GENERAL INFORMATION - SKIP BIN HIRE
The Skip Bin hire is for one week. The charge of a bin depends on the job site location and bin size required; Trevor is available on 0439 044 408 and is happy to discuss your needs and prices.
If the bin is filled prior to the scheduled collection date, then please call us and we will collect. Bins can only be filled level with the rim of the Skip Bin as all loads need to be tarped by law, so they are safe to transit.
Due to Government regulations, you can not put the following items into a Skip Bin:
Asbestos • Chemicals • Flammable Liquids • Tyres or Batteries • Liquid Waste
Bins must be placed on Private Property and must not be left on Public Land, Roadside, Verges etc. Skips cannot be placed in Garages, Carports, and under Power Lines as this involves risk.
If loads are mixed, there will be additional dumping fees. Payment is required on Delivery or Collection of Skip Bins unless prior arrangements have been made.
WHAT CAN I PUT INTO A SKIP BIN?
Due to FRWA Waste Management requirements, FRWA reserves the right to refuse waste disposal if it is not sorted appropriately, and if it is not sorted appropriately an additional charge of up to $200 per load will apply.
Therefore, it is in your best interest for waste to be sorted into categories, as listed below. If your waste is not sorted, we will be required to pass on these extra charges to you.

Payment is required on delivery or pick up of Skip Bins. Payment arrangements to meet your needs can be discussed at your initial time of enquiry.

Waste disposal is managed on Kangaroo Island by the Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority. The FRWA reserves the right to refuse waste disposal if it is not sorted appropriately and can charge an additional fee of up to $200 per load that is not sorted.

FRWA on Kangaroo Island is a transfer station, therefore if contents of skip bin is mixed a sorting fee will apply and will be charged in addition to hire of skip bin.

The Skip Bin is hired for one week from date of delivery, additional days a surcharge will apply (amount will be quoted to you). The customer is required to contact KI Skip Bins to advise when the Skip Bin is full. The surcharge will cease from the day of that phone call.

KI Skip Bin operates according to Local Government requirements and therefore Skip Bins must be placed on private property and cannot be left on public land, roadside or verges. Skip Bins also cannot be placed in garages, carports and under power lines as this involves OH&S risk.

Due to EPA regulations you cannot put the following into Skip Bins:
Asbestos materials; Chemicals; Flammable Liquids; Tyres; Batteries; Liquid Waste such as oils or grease -
Waste in the Skip Bin is to be placed NO higher than the rim of the Skip Bin as all loads are covered to meet legal environmental requirements.

• KI Skip Bins takes no responsibility/liability of any injury to persons placing waste in the bin whilst being hired.
• KI Skip Bins takes no responsibility/liability of any unauthorised person who may be injured removing waste from the Skip Bin.
